Nice to meet you

Hello, and welcome to my small corner of the internet.

I've worked with teams for over ten years to identify opportunities and capitalize on them by designing, building, and growing innovative products.

Here you can find a selection of my projects, along with some more information about me and my work history. I've also included some links to other places you'll find me on the internet, and ways to get in touch. Feel free to reach out to grab a virtual or rainy coffee here in the PNW.

Long Version

I'm a Product Manager, UX Designer, and Product Marketer with extensive experience transforming complex technology into impactful products. I've founded and sold a venture-backed startup, led product vision and development for another through acquisition, and did the same for a third through a public offering.

Although I began my career as a Software Engineer, I've always loved Product and quickly found my home in that discipline. I'm a maker at heart, and love exploring new projects and industries both inside and outside of work. Through these projects, I've built a wide breadth of skills in Design, Marketing, Engineering, and other disciplines that I leverage in my work.

Over the years, I've developed some core beliefs about what it takes to develop successful products. I try to approach my work with these in mind, both as a way to guide myself and be aware of my biases. They also show up as themes in the (small amount of) writing, mentoring, and investing I do.

I think product work should be a mix of art and science. Good products are built on process and data, but great products also incorporate intuition and creativity. I think the only way to build this intuition is to genuinely be interested in the medium, and constantly explore what others are building.

I have a lot of favorite products that have inspired me over the years. They include Detour, for how it managed to turn very-tricky technology into effortless guided walking tours. The CAVA restaurant app for it's seamless integration of creative features. The Domino's Pizza Tracker, for innovating on an often ignored part of product experience. I'll add one more honorable mention for the Yo app, for it's bold adherence to simplicity.

I hope you enjoy exploring my small corner of the internet. I'm always happy to talk further about any of my projects, my thoughts on product(s), or what my favorite BattleBot competitor is.
